Join the practice
Welcome
Any patient wishing to register with the practice is offered a new patient health check with our Health Care Assistant. The health check is an opportunity for the patient and practice to become acquainted.
Prior to the health check the patient will be asked to fill out a simple registration form giving details such as their name and address, etc. To enable us to trace the patient’s previous medical records we will need to know their previous address. The patient will then be given an appointment to have their health check. However, an appointment can be made with the doctor before hand especially if the patient is on repeat medication.

These fact sheets have been written to explain the role of UK health services, the National Health Service (NHS), to newly-arrived individuals seeking asylum. They cover issues such as the role of GPs, their function as gatekeepers to the health services, how to register and how to access emergency services.
Special care has been taken to ensure that information is given in clear language, and the content and style has been tested with user groups.
